Prayer Request

Prayer RequestsOne of many things we as Christians can do to exercise our faith is minister to people through prayer.  Following is a list of people in need of our prayers. Please take a moment from your busy day to pray for each person here.

Do you have a prayer you would like to add?  If so, please let me (Fawn) know.  If you have a prayer need and would like it to remain confidential, please let Pastor Rick know.

Please lift up our dear friends Frank and Charlene Krizon.  Charlene has  started losing sight in both her eyes, she had an appt. at Mayo Clinic 8/15/08 and now has a new doctor to diagnose her problem.

JAZMIN STEEPROCK (car accident)

9 year old Jazmin Steeprock of Deland was in a car accident and suffered injuries to her head.

UPDATE 8/1/08:  Jazmin continues to recover from her surgery and is doing well. She will being seeing multiple physicians, the ophthalmologist, throat, neuro, along with her continued rehabilitation. She continues to amaze her family, friends and doctors.  Her family appreciates all and the love that has surrounded her. Please continue to pray for Jazmin and her family.

 AMANDA REECE (meningitis)
Tuesday, 7/29/08

Little 4-year-old Amanda Reece had her Cochlear implant placed in her right ear, she's in a lot of pain, surgery went well, but they only did the initial part of the process. They placed the implant inside only, she still is unable to hear. They will see her on September 2nd to activate the implant and this will be the day she will be able to hear us again if things go well, she will not hear us like she had prior to the meningitis, she will hear things very differently at first, it takes time and work for her to get to where she was before, we hope.

How can you help?

  • Anyone who would like to donate to the Amanda Reece Fund at Mainstreet Bank - bank locations and hours are posted at http://www.mainstreetcbf.com/.  (If unable to get to the bank, checks made out to the Amanda Reece Fund may be mailed to Ann Jenkins, 207 W. University Ave., DeLand, FL 32720 or delivered to Judy Ward, Office of Academic Affairs, DeLand Hall, Stetson.)

  • Lift the Reece Family up in prayer for the praises and struggles mentioned above.

  • If from out of town, maybe send them a gas card (Orange City and Orlando miles add up) or a meal card.

  • We’re trying to do a couple of meals a week for the family, so if you’re local and would like to do this, contact Ann Jenkins 386-624-5050 ajenkins@stetson.edu

  • Send an encouraging note to: The Reece Family, 1165 8th Avenue, DeLand, FL  32724

She heads back to Tampa next week for more chemo treatments - yuck!  If you have not read Cameron's journals yet, please take a moment to read her updates, and while you're there send her a note of encouragement!  Please continue pray for Cameron as she goes the ups and downs of chemo treatments. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/cameronhuster

There is a young lady named Liz King that is running a marathon in honor of Cameron to raise money for blood cancer research and patient services - please check out her blog! http://pages.teamintraining.org/los/honolulu08/lizking

Please be in prayer for the Vieira family who lost their sweet little 7 year old daughter in a car crash 7/8/08; she was a classmate of my co-workers daughter.  UPDATE ON THE MOTHER Tracey 8/8/08:

Tracey Vieira is making improvements!  She is currently in a rehab facility and is talking and does recognize people. Please continue to lift up this family as they deal with the loss of their daughter while trying to help Tracey heal.

One of Ashley Cowell’s elementary school teachers (Elaine Watson) had knee replacement a few months ago and was doing well until there was a car chase in her neighborhood recently.  Either the suspect or the officer caused her to crash and she was hurt  and hospitalized.  Now, she has just left the hospital after having a tumor removed from her stomach.  We will post updates as we receive them.
