Many of you remember our former adopted soldier, Chrissy
Johnson who is now back in the states. I thought you would enjoy
hearing an update on her; please be sure to read her response when I
asked if I could share her update with the church!

Hello Everyone!
Sorry it's been so long since I have written! The last 6 months have
been pretty crazy. Between out processing from the Army, getting
married, moving to ! Alaska and finding out the wonderful news of the
baby on the way....it's been nuts.ha ha.But Josh and I have managed to
stay sane and take things one thing at a time.We drove all the way from
North Carolina to Minnesota to visit for a week, then we drove all the
way to Alaska!! It took about a week from Minnesota to Alaska but wow it
was an amazing drive thru Canada. Some days we didn't see a sign of life
for a day in the Mountains. But everything went great and we made it and
found a place to live rather quickly. Josh is stationed at Fort
Richardson which is in Anchorage. We decided to live in Wasilla about 45
min away, which is considered, The Valley." We are surrounded by
mountains, as if we are in the bottom of a soup bowl. Its amazing here,
we are both very much outdoorsy people so we can't wait to get out there
and do everything Alaska has to offer, just have to wait for our little
girl to get here! Its hard to do to much 6 months prego! But we have
been exploring on the weekends, the Iditarod race started about 10miles
from our house so we went to watch the mushers take off. Life here is
like night and day to Florida!! So if you feel the need for a rustic
outdoorsy get-away, please let me know!! I would love to have you!! I
have sent some pics of the last 6 months also! I hope all is well with
everyone and I want to thank you again for the support I had from you
all while I was deployed,it ment so much. I love and miss you all and
please send pics when you can. I love and miss you.
Love,Chrissy and Josh
Chrissy's response to the church:
Yes, I would love for you to share the e mail with your church, and
please extend my deepest thank you to everyone at your church for their
support and packages!!! It is so wonderful your church is so supportive,
if you could see how happy a package makes a soldier deployed. The
due date is July 7th! And yes, one of the first thoughts was thank god
it will be July in Alaska!! No more than 70 degrees! I will definitely
send pics of the baby when she arrives! Take care, lots of love, Chrissy
